I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
My qualifications are:
I’ve worked in a variety of children and young people's mental health settings for 16 years and as a qualified Clinical Psychologist since 2009. For the last 5 years I have specialised in working with families where a young person has a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa. This involves family-based therapy and individual work incorporating compassionate communication, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
Some of my key interests include working with attachment trauma within families, which includes emotional regulation & resiliency work with children, EMDR, and re-parenting work.
I offer a safe, warm and empathic space to explore and understand patterns which may be keeping people stuck in repeating loops of anxiety, distress or anger. It is so rewarding to see young people, and their parents develop insight and learn techniques to achieve meaningful change aligned with their values.
I take a holistic approach, utilising both evidence-based theory and incorporating mind, body and soul. I have recently completed training as a transformational coach and believe everyone has what they need within for deep healing and deeper self-understanding. Young people also need help from the systems around them and I offer support for families and Schools. Currently, I also offer parent coaching, online parenting workshops, and group programs to empower teens to overcome anxiety and shame.
