I am a Clinical Psychologist and am a member of the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC).
My qualifications are:
We all have times in our lives where we feel stuck and unsure how to move forward. In sessions with me, I aim to work respectfully, collaboratively and non-judgementally with you so that we can (a) come to a shared understanding of your difficulties and; (b) find new and more helpful ways of managing them so that you can start to live a more meaningful and fulfilled life.
As a Clinical Psychologist I am skilled in offering a range of specialist psychological therapies guided by the evidence base. I draw upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). There is no “one size fits all” and the approach I take depends on the individual person and what they need.
I have worked in the field of mental health and the NHS for a number of years. I currently hold a part time post as a senior clinical psychologist in the NHS, working with those who have severe, complex and enduring needs. I work with adults presenting with a range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, stress, low self esteem and trauma (including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and childhood trauma).
