I am a registered member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
My qualifications are:
I have a passion for person-centred care and am experienced in working with a wide variety of clients and presenting difficulties. I take an integrative approach, in particular, in addition to CBT, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) Skills. I have received advanced training in CBT for insomnia, and motivational interviewing. These techniques compliment my work across a range of mental health difficulties.
I enjoy working with adolescents and adults. Areas of special interest and experience include, depression, anxiety disorders, low self-esteem, persistent physical symptoms, adjustment to chronic health conditions, and cognitive difficulties. I have experience helping clients with more complex or longstanding difficulties and those having trouble with emotional regulation.
Following my undergraduate degree and before qualifying in CBT, I worked in the field of Neuropsychology with clients affected by acquired brain injuries at Headway Thames Valley. Continuing to develop my clinical interest in this area is something that I am passionate about. I have been a member of the Board of Trustees at Headway South Bucks since 2016.
